Before the start of the 2010 Winter Paralympic Games, the Russian competitors have received a good luck message from the Sochi 2014 organizing committee and its president, Dmitry Chernyshenko.
“A few hours remain until the start of the Paralympic Games. I want to wish our athletes good luck and a repeat of the triumph of the 2006 Games in Turin, which ended with a victory for our team in the medal table. For millions of Russian fans the success of our Paralympic competitors is an example of victory over conditions, of overcoming of yourself, a strong stimulus for moving forward,” Chernyshenko was quoted as saying by the Sochi 2014 press service, reports RIA Novosti.
The 10th Winter Paralympic Games starts in Vancouver on Friday, and the Russian flag was raised at the Whistler ski resort on Thursday to signify the arrival of its Paralympic team.
