CIS and Baltic states support Azerbaijan's bid to host of the Summer Olympic Games-2020. Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of Russia Marat Bariyev urged sides at the regional forum of heads of national Olympic committees of CIS and Baltic states to take a common position in their votes, Azerbaijani Minister for Youth and Sports Azad Ragimov said on Thursday.
13 national Olympic committees of CIS and Baltic states will support Azerbaijan in hosting the games in 2020, Ragimov said.
Madrid, Rome, Tokyo. Istanbul and Dokha (capital of Qatar) bid to host the games in 2020. The first presentation of the states will be held in February 2012.
The International Olympic Committee will name the winner in the capital of Argentina, Buenos Aires, on September 7, 2013.
