In the semi-final he defeated Georgian wrestler Vladimir Gegeshidze 3:1 and 3:0, thus ensuring a third medal for Russia in Greco-Roman wrestling.
On Sunday, Roman Vlasov won gold in the category below 74 kg, while
Mingiyan Semenov won bronze.
