The second day of the European Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships ended in Nizhny Novgorod today, on June 2. Russian sportswoman Evgenia Kanayeva managed to defended her title of European champion in the multiple-stage competition, getting 118.150 points in four exercises. Alexandra Merkulova (Russia) got 116.425 Aliya Garayeva from Azerbaijan received 114.850 points, getting the third place. As a result of the junior in the multiple-stage competition were selected finalists for different types of programmes. It should be noticed that Azerbaijani gymnasts will participate in all the finals. Nilyufyar Niftaliyeva will perform in the final programme with hoop and juggling clubs , Marina Durunda will perform programme with a ball, Gulsum Shafizade will perform a programme with ribbon. In the team placing Azerbaijani team was scored 102.925 points and took 5th place. Gold medals were won by the Russian team – their team placing score is 109.850.
