Medvedev arrives in London for opening of Olympic Games 2012
Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has arrived in London to head
the Russian delegation at the official opening of the XXX Olympic
Games, ITAR-TASS reports.
The plane landed at the Stansted Airport. From there, Medvedev went to
Buckingham Palace, where Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain will
give a reception for heads of delegations.
The second day of the visit of Medvedev will begin with an interview
to the Times. The head of the government will also visit the
volleyball competition between the Russia and British women's team.
For the first time after the Moscow Olympics-80 Russia will conduct a
national TV signal directly from the London Olympics with the help of
the "Sports Broadcasting".
Vladimir Putin was the first Russian high official to visit Olympic
Games. He visited Olympics in Beijing four years ago.
Vladimir Putin will arrive in London on a private visit on August 2.
