The fire of the 30th Summer Olympic Games in London has been put out. President of the International Olympic Committee Jacques Rogge praised the organizers of the games. Russia won 82 medals, including 24 gold, 25 silver and 33 bronze. Russian track and field athletes won 8 of the 24 golden medals, ITAR-TASS reports.
Kazakhstan won 7 gold medals, 4 of which in weight lifting, a silver medal and 5 bronze medals.
Iran won 4 gold medals, 3 of which in Greco-Roman wrestling and one in weight lifting. Iran won a total of 12 medals.
Azerbaijan won two gold medals, one silver and two bronze in free wrestling. One more silver and bronze were won in Greco-Roman wrestling. Azerbaijan won 10 medals in total.
Turkey won a gold medal in weight lifting and taekwondo, two silver medals and one bronze medal.
Georgia won 7 medals, including one gold in judo and the rest in Greco-Roman and free wrestling.
Armenian athletes won one silver medal and two bronze medals.
Closing the Olympic Games in London, President of the IOC invited everyone to Rio de Janeiro for the next games in 2016.
London has been hosting the Olympic Games for the third time. It organized the previous games in 1908 and 1948.
