Bloomberg reports that by the end of Putin's visit to Turkey, the
Russian gas corporation Gazprom could become the main sponsor of
the Turkish football team Antalyaspor.
At the moment Gazprom is actively investing in several sports
clubs. Thus, the gas giant has a controlling stake in the football
club Zenit (St. Petersburg). The company is also the title sponsor
of Schalke 04 in the German Bundesliga, as well as the volleyball
club Zenit-Kazan. Since November 2010, Gazprom has become a
partner of Volga FC (Nizhny Novgorod), as well as the football club
Sakhalin from Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. In addition, the company is
sponsoring Crvena Zvezda (Belgrade, Serbia) and London's Chelsea.
