UEFA has welcomed the idea of holding a joint CIS championship in
football. The Union of European Football Associations said that it is
interested in the project, RIA-Novosti reports.
The UEFA spokesman said that such a championship "will help attract
visitors to the stands, promote interest in football and provide
additional revenues from the sale of broadcasting rights."
