CIS football championship becomes more defined

A press conference of the Russian Premier League was held today,
dedicated to the discussion about a single championship of the
Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). The purpose of the press
conference was the creation of an initiative group.

The head of CSKA, Yevgeny Ghiner, proposed that Sergei Pryadkin, the
head of the Russian Football Premier League, be appointed chairman of
the organizing committee of the CIS championship.

The head of the Premier League said that it is a very interesting
project. The head of CSKA stressed that a concept and structure of the
CIS championship is still absent.

Yevgeny Ghiner said that in recent years there have been changes in
the attitude of European football officials to the idea of holding a
CIS championship.
