A number of cities can apply to host the Summer Olympics in 2024, including Baku, news.az reports.
Among the potential organizers are cities such as Toronto (Canada), St. Petersburg (Russia), Rome (Italy), Baku, and Doha (Qatar).
It is yet not clear who will take the Olympic Games in 2020, but already there is talk of the venue of the next Games. This venue could be Berlin or Hamburg. However, the German proposal will depend on who will take the 2020 Games. If Madrid wins then, under the rotation principle, Europe will not host the 2024 Olympics. In case of the victory of Istanbul (Turkey) or Tokyo (Japan), the chances of Europe will increase.
Paris (France) may also host the 2024 Games. Thus it may mark the 100th anniversary since the 1924 Olympics, which was held in France. The Games may be held also in South Africa, according to the article.
Baku claimed the 2016 and 2020 Olympic Games, however, these attempts have not been successful.
