In Azerbaijan, a criminal investigation has been started into an incident that occurred on May 28 after the final game of the Azerbaijani Cup between FC "Neftchi" and "Khazar-Lankaran" at the Tofig Bakhramov stadium. Baku Main Police Office and the city prosecutor's office issued a special statement claiming that after the final game on May 28 a confrontation occurred between the fans, and for no apparent reason they were bullying, accompanied by a gross violation of public order, open disrespect for society and use of force against other citizens. As a result of measures taken by the police, the incident was suppressed. A criminal case was launched under article 221.2.1 (hooliganism by a group of persons) of the Criminal Code. At the moment, necessary steps of identification of suspects are being carries out. Also, an analysis of the incident was made by the Disciplinary Committee of the AFFA. According to the Sport.1news.az website, the penalties given to the representatives of "Neftchi" we're as follows: the already-dismissed from his post ex-head of the team Guloglan Dzhabbarov (fine - 40,000 manats - $51 thousand), operator Dadash Zeynalov (suspension for 12 games, 6 thousand), coach Nebosha Manolovich (12 games, 6 thousand), football player Mahir Shukurov (6 games, 3 thousand), the security chief Vagif Musayev (12 games, 6 thousand), the guards Elnur Asgerov, Shahriyar Agayev and Mirramin Seyidov (12 games each and 6 thousand) - all of them participated in the brawl after the match. Goalkeeper of "Neftchi" Sasha Stamenkovic was suspended for 3 games and fined for unethical behavior. For 6 games are disqualified the players of "Khazar-Lankaran" Elnur Allahverdiyev and Radomir Todorov. All disqualifications apply only to the matches of the Cup of Azerbaijan. The fine of "Neftchi" amounts to a total of 84,000 manats ($107 thousand).
