An Azerbaijani expedition will arrive in Pakistan to climb Mt. Nanga Parbat (8125m). Azerbaijani climbers have climbed the Himalayas six times as part of international expeditions.
The national expedition consists of Israfil Ashurly, Ismail Askerov, Rufat Gojayev. They will move from Kinshofer to the Diamir Wall to mark the 90th anniversary of Heydar Aliyev.
Climbers from Ukraine, Russia, Poland and Georgia will ascend the mountain as well.
Nanga Parbat is the ninth tallest mountain in the world and the tallest in the West Himalayas. Mounts Everest, K2, Annapurnoy and Nanga Parbat have the biggest death toll.
Nanga Parbat is a 2000-m line at Inda bend in Pakistan. The 5000-m wall exceeds the height of other mountais in the area by over 1000m.
Azerbaijan ascended the mountain successfully in 2003, 2007, 2011 and 2013. Israfil Ashurly and Murad Ashurly climbed Mt. Everest.
