Turkey is ready to host 2020 Olympic Games despite the Gezi protests, Turkish deputy prime minister Ali Babacan said today at the meeting of the International Olympic Committee held in Lausanne.
The official presented the Turkish Olympic project.
"The police may have made some mistakes during the protests, but we have learnt this lesson," he said. The official also stressed Turkey's commitment to fundamental human rights. He said that the Turkish government respects people's right to express their views.
