This year, the festival "Caucasian Games", in spite of long tradition, will take place in Pyatigorsk instead of Makhachkala. The festival will take place between 5 and 7 October. The decision was taken today by the organizing committee of the festival, the First Deputy Minister for Physical Culture and Sports of Dagestan Zainal Salautdinov said.
The main reason for the change is the number of other events planned to take place in Makhachkala in the autumn. An international boxing tournament, a Russian volleyball tournament and the grand rehearsal of the Olympic torch relay are scheduled for this period.
