Mountain resort of Sochi, Krasnaya Polyana, will look like a modern European resort for the price of 20 billion rubles. By the end of summer the works on the construction of new sidewalks, drainage and landscaping will be completed. The area where the main Olympic competitions will be held will acquire a modern European look, the city administration said.
The mayor's office noted that for the first time in the history of the village, which last year celebrated its 135th anniversary, the asphalt is laid on every street. Storm sewers will allow roads to be kept in perfect condition even on snowy winter days, ITAR-TASS quotes a report by City Hall.
Krasnaya Polyana will also surprise the participants and guests of the 2014 Olympics with its new bright lights. Special equipment to create light paintings will be installed in the streets of the ski resort.
