Russia wins World Free Calisthenics Championship

Russia won 6 gold medals, 2 silver medals and 2 bronze medals at the 32nd World Free Calisthenics Championship that ended in Kiev yesterday. Ukraine took 1-2-2 respectively, Belarus 1-1-3. Yana Kudryavtseva won 3 gold medals, Margarita Mamun won 2.

The qualification exams of 50 judges, including Natalya Kuzmina (Vice President of the Federation of Free Calisthenics of Russia), were nullified. The technical committee she was in charge of was disqualified and accused of corruption. Although the committee was proven innocent later, it was not allowed to judge the championship in Kiev.

Azerbaijani athletes Lala Yusifova won the 13th position, Marina Durunda won the 16th. The Azerbaijani team won the 7th position in group performances.

Armenia was represented at the championship by Lilit Kharutyunyan and Anna Svirina, Georgia by Liana Tsetsadze and Salome Pajava, Turkey by Elif Zeynep Celep and Burcin Neziroglu. They did not take part in group performances. Kazakhstan became the 22nd.
