Kasparov and Ilyumzhinov bid to head FIDE

Kirsan Ilyumzhinov, head of the World Chess Federation (FIDE), and Garry Kasparov, a former World Chess Champion, are bidding to head the FIDE, Interfax reports.


They announced their readiness to campaign to become the FIDE head at the General Assembly of the FIDE Congress in Tallinn on Monday.
