Aslan Afaunov, Minister for Sports, Tourism and Resorts of Kabardino-Balkaria, told the press center of the federal purpose program for development of physical education and sports in Russia for 2006-2015 that 24% of the republic, or 216,000 people, was engaged in sports, RIA Novosti reports.
He reminded that Anzor Kardanov, an honorary Russian coach and coach of Aslanbek Khushtov, Greco-Roman Wrestling Champion of the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, was the Director of a Republican Children’s Stadium. The minister added that honorary coaches Khachim Mamkhegov and Adam Mamkhegov, coaches of two world martial arts champions of 2012, were working at the Nalchik Sports Center.
The Republican Children’s Stadium and the Nalchik Sports Center opened within the framework of the federal purpose program in 2012.
