The Olympic Torch Relay of the 22nd Winter Olympic Games has started in Stavropol. Cossacks and volunteers of youth centers welcomed carriers of the Torch at the railway station, Yuga.ru reports.
Head of the Stavropol Administration Andrey Jatdoyev lighted the Torch. It was then carried by heavy athlete Andrey Chemerkin. The Torch will pass 14km and enter the main square of the city.
Transportation in the area will be restricted and police patrols enforced.
