North Caucasus climbers set Olympic flag on Mt. Elbrus

Climbers from Chechnya, Kabardino-Balkaria and North Ossetia have set the Olympic flag of Sochi at the peak of Mt. Elbrus within the Russia on Peaks of the World project, Grozny-Inform reports.

Kazbek Khamitsayev, Sochi-2014 Ambassador to the North Caucasus, was in charge of the project. Anatoly Abisalov, Raphael Ramazanov, Soslan Dziov, Ramzan Bakanayev, Soslan Tsutsiyev, Sergey Konovalov, Jamlay Bugayev, Rashid Arsayev, Turpal-Ali Minashev and Abdulhalim Elmezov climbed the height of 5,000m on January 27, 2014.

The expedition descended to the Gara Bashi Plateau and started descending to the Azau meadow. Everyone descended successfully.
