Russian President Vladimir Putin thanked the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for giving the opportunity to host the Winter Olympic Games, Interfax reports.
Putin noted that Sochi had started preparations for the Games with only 10-15% of the necessary infrastructure. He reminded that infrastructure projects that needed decades for construction took Russia only 5 years.
