Russian President Vladimir Putin has announced the readiness of the country to start the Winter Olympic Games at the Pribrezhnaya Olympic Village, RIA Novosti reports.
He reminded that preparations for the Games had been made from scratch and had taken 7 years of hard work. Clusters for residence of athletes were formed in the Imereti Lowlands and on the mountains.
Putin believes that Russian athletes can achieve the best results at the Games. He said that fair and courageous competitions were the most important aspect.
Yelena Isinbayeva, a Russian athlete and ‘Mayor’ of the Olympic Village, showed Putin around the place. Putin started the excursion from the fitness center, he visited the place for athletes to rest. He greeted US athletes present there.
