Russian President Vladimir Putin has taken part in foundation of the Alley of Winners at the Sochi Olympic Park by planting a tree together with skeleton sledder Alexander Tretyakov, RIA Novosti reports.
Russia took most gold in the Winter Olympic Games.
33 trees were planted at the alley, corresponding to the number of medals won.
Adelina Sotnikova, winner of a gold medal for figure skating, showed Putin a photo made a few years ago. Putin recalled that Sotnikova had been only 12 when he had met winners of Spartakiade in Novogorsk.
