President of the Russian Figure Skating Federation Alexander Gorshkov said that Sochi may host the 2017 World Figure Skating Championship and had already prepared a bid to host it, Yuga.ru reports.
The Transportation Ministry, in his words, approved the bid.
Sochi hosted the 2014 World Figure Skating Championship at the Iceberg Skating Palace. Russia won three gold, one silver and one bronze medal.
