Festive march to be held in honor of the Russian hockey team

The official website of the Department of Physical Culture and Sport of Moscow reported that the celebration of the Russian ice hockey team that won the World Championship gold in Minsk will be held May 27 in Moscow.

A bus with the players of the national team and the championship trophy will set off from Pushkin Square at 13:00. The route will run along Tverskaya Street, Mokhovaya Street and Novaya Square, ending at Ilyinka Street near Red Square.

The day before, the Russian team won the final of the world championship over Finland (5:2). Today the players, as well as leaders of the delegation, the President of the Hockey Federation of Russia ( FHR ) Vladislav Tretiak and CEO Valery Fesyuk FHR, arrived in Moscow.

The Russian national hockey team became world champions for the fifth time. Previously, it achieved success in the tournaments in 1993 , 2008, 2009 and 2012. The Russians also twice won silver (2002, 2010) and bronze (2005, 2007).
