Russian Minister for Sports Vitaly Mutko said that all programs related to the 2018 FIFA World Cup preparations will be cut by 10%. Construction of football infrastructure and communal buildings will not undergo any budget reductions, TASS reports.
The Russian Ministry for Industry and Commerce will check any rising expenses, according to Mutko. The minister had earlier admitted there is a deficit in the budget of the World Cup.
The organizing committee plans to compensate for the deficit from private donations.
