Azerbaijani wrestlers win two medals on second day of European Championship

The European Under-23 Wrestling Championship is being held in the Polish city of Walbrzych.


Yesterday during the second day of competitions four sets of medals in freestyle wrestling were held. Magomedgadzhi Hatiev (86 kg) reached the final, but lost to Alexander Hushtin from Belarus, winning the silver medal. Ali Magomedabirov (125 kg) defeated Danito Kartavi from Ukraine and won the bronze medal. Akhmednabi Gvarzatilov (61 kg) took 5th place, and Murad Suleymanov (70 kg) lost in the quarterfinals, Sportbox.az reports.


In 2 days the Azerbaijani Wrestling team won two silver and two bronze awards, scored 48 points and took third place. Russia was the winner with 61 points and Georgia finished second with 57 points, 1news.az reports.
