The torch for the 2015 European Games in Baku will be lit on April 26, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Youth and Sports Azad Rahimov said during a meeting with Azerbaijani athletes taking part in the European Karate Championships in Turkey.
According to him, the athletes and celebrities of Azerbaijan would carry the torch across all country, and the fire of the First European Games will be lit by this torch the day before the start of the Games, Trend reports.
The 2015 European Games will be held in Baku on 12-28 June 2015. Its program includes competitions in 20 sports. More than 6 thousand athletes from 49 countries will participate in the Games, 239 sets of medals will be competed for.
