Azerbaijani athletes must show high results and win medals at the first European Games, Minister of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan Azad Rahimov said at a meeting devoted to the preparation of the sports federations of the country for the European Games.
Azerbaijani athletes showed high results at the Olympic Games in London, and they must show even better results at the European Games, Rahimov reminded.
According to the minister, all conditions have been created for the athletes, the state takes great care of them.
The European Games is the biggest event in the history of Azerbaijan, everything needed to conduct it at a high level is being done, Trend cited Rahimov as saying.
He also said that all the sports facilities will be commissioned in April. The necessary work to provide safety and transport is being timely implemented, he added.
