Oksana Stefanishina from Sochi has set a new record for the fastest ascent of Mt. Elbrus within the framework of the Red Fox Elbrus Race 2015, according to Yevgeny Kolchakov, the director of the winter extreme sports festival, Interfax reports.
Stefanshina is part of the Kabardino-Balkarian team. She climbed the western peak of Mt. Elbrus from the Azau Meadow in 4 hours and 42 minutes, or 6 hours and 25 minutes together with the descent.
Vitaly Shkel, a resident of Kabardino-Balkaria of the CSKA team, climbed the peak in 3 hours and 29 minutes.
