The Round Lake training center is hosting the solemn send-off of the Russian team to the First European Games in Baku.
The President of the Russian Olympic Committee, Alexander Zhukov, addressing the athletes, noted that it is a great honor to participate in the upcoming competitions.
The presidential adviser Igor Levitin said that Azerbaijan carried out huge work for two and a half years, all sports infrastructure was built and they have good transport logistics.
The Deputy Sports Minister of Russia, Yury Nagornykh, believes that our athletes have the historic mission to participate in the First European games. "You are those lucky people who opened the pages in the history of world sports," he said.
The 2015 European Games will be held in Baku on 12-28 June 2015. Their program includes competitions in 20 sports.
