Azerbaijani grand chess master Shakhriyar Mamedyarov lost in the ninth
round to a player from Israel, Boris Gelfand. Armenian player Levon
Aronyan and Russian player Sergey Karyakin have caught up with
Mamedyarov. Each has 5.5 points and took places from 1-3.
The leaders' board is as follows: Mamedyarov, Aronyan, Karyakin -- 5.5
points, Grishuk, Nakamura, Van Hao -- 5, Kramnik -- 4.5, Gelfand -- 3.5,
