Sochi to host 40th Assembly of European Olympic Committees

Sochi has won the right to hold the 40th general assembly of the
European Olympic Committees (EOC) in 2011, RIA Novosti reports,
quoting the press service of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC).

The voting took place at the 39th general assembly of the EOC in
Belgrade on Friday.

"We are delighted that Sochi will host the anniversary 40th general
assembly of the European Olympic Committees in 2011. The
century-anniversary of the Russian Olympic Committee will add a
special solemnity and importance to this event. We are looking forward
to welcoming and hospitably receiving our colleagues in the Olympic
movement in the city of the 2014 Olympic and Paralympic games," Zhukov
said.
