2018 Football World Cup will take place in Russia.

Russia was selected by the members of executive committee of FIFA to host the 2018 Football World Cup (WC-2018) on Thursday in Zürich, RIA Novosti reports. England and the joint applications of Portugal with Spain and Belgium with Holland as well as Russia contested to hold WC-2018. The fact that Russia was chosen to hold WC-2018 was announced
 by the head of FIFA, Sepp Blatter. The airplane of Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin is ready to flyout to Zurich.
 Putin announced today that he would go to Switzerland if Russia became the host of WC-2018, in which case he would personally congratulate the Russian delegation on its triumph. The Russian premier refused to fly to the presentation of Russian application yesterday, making reference to the fact that his presence might exert additional pressure on FIFA’s committee.
