Sochi will boast 25,000 volunteers working at the Winter Olympic Games
in 2014. The volunteers will be trained at the all-Russian volunteer
centers in 26 education institutions, President of the Organization
Committee 'Sochi 2014' Dmitry Chernyshenko said, RIA Novosti reports.
The 'Volunteer Centers of Russia' contest has concluded its results.
26 education institutions (25 higher education centers and a
colleague) will have 25,000 volunteers working at the Olympic and
Paralympic Games in 2014.
Chernyshenko said that they plan to establish volunteer centers to
train volunteers for other significant events, such as the Universiade
in Kazan in 2013, the AsianpPacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit
in 2012, the World Football Cup in 2018 and others.
He clarified that they will select only the best to be the volunteers,
people who will represent the country and demonstrate good knowledge
of history.
