Georgian Times closes

Georgian Times paper has been closed. Caucasus-Press says that the editor-in-chief Nana Gagua and her husband Malkhaz Gulashvili had to move to Russia.

Gagua said that the rumors about masked people breaking into the newspaper’s office were false. She said that the main reason for closing the paper was ideological problems. The paper tried to impose its on view on events on the readers. Another problem is the necessity for financial and marketing reorganization.

The founders of Georgian Times are hiding in Russia. Gulashvili had left Georgia several months ago after the incident on Caucasia TV channel.
