Saint-Petersburg to host talks on North Caucasus potential

Saint-Petersburg will host the 15th International Economic Forum
"Resorts of the North Caucasus" on June 18. The forum hosts talks on
the potential of the North Caucasus.


The talks will focus on the socio-economic development of the region
and the main geopolitical and culturological factors affecting
processes in the region and the country.


Alexander Khloponin, Vice-Premier and Plenipotentiary Envoy to the
North Caucasian Federal District (NCFD), Valery Gergiev, head of the
Mariinsky Theater, French Foreign Trade Minister P. Laluche, business
officials and experts will attend the meeting.


The forum includes an essay contest on the Caucasus in 10 years time
for 9th and 11th grade pupils of the NCFD, Krasnodar Territory and
Adygeya. The goal of the essay contest is to understand the views of
the youth on the Caucasus's future.


The winners will be awarded in Moscow on June 15. The winners of the
contest will attend the talks in Saint-Petersburg on June 18, 2011.
