22 million tourists have visited Turkey this year, APA reports.
14.49% of them come from Germany, 3,144,722, 12.28% come from Russia, 2,666,066. Turkey has seen 1,826,237 English tourists. The fewest came from Iran, Netherlands, Bulgaria, France, Georgia, Syria and Italy.
Most tourists were seen in August. 626,570 tourists came from Germany, 587,265 tourists from Russia, 424,404 tourists from the UK. Iranians, the Netherlands, Italy, France, Georgia, Poland and Syria made visits to Turkey during Ramadan. Compared with August 2010, the number of tourists visiting Turkey increased by 9.62%, reaching 4,080,000 people. The number of tourists this year has increased by 10.45%.
