The all-year ski resort of Arkhyz (Karachay-Cherkessia), which is part of the tourism cluster of the North Caucasian Federal District, plans to welcome its first visitors in January-February 2012, Director General of Arkhyz-Sinara, Yuri Starkov, told RIA Novosti.
The resort will open at the first village of Arkhyz Romantic in January-February 2012. It will have a 4-sided cableway 860 meters long capable of transporting 1,800 people per hour and two ski trails of 1km each.
There will not be many tourists in the first season, because the infrastructure has not been fully built. The first five hotels and the administrative building will be opened in September-October 2012. They will have rooms for 300 tourists.
