The general concept of the North Caucasus tourism cluster is
"supported by all regions participating in the project; a detailed
business plan for each site is in the process of elaboration and will
be presented for approval this fall, deputy director general of the
"Resorts of the North Caucasus" Rostislav Murzagulov said today,
commenting on the recent publication in one of the print media, which,
citing an anonymous source, claimed that, allegedly, some regions of
southern Russia have criticized the concept of the tourism cluster.
"The concept was developed on behalf of the president of Russia as a
justification for the decision to launch the project. It presents a
very general idea of the future resorts, and it is simply impossible talk
about any details," he said.
He added that the financial side of the project will be clearer after
the Ernst & Young company produces a business plan. The
representative of the CSC clarified that all the regions involved in
the project based on the premier's order on the establishment of
tourism cluster have signed agreements with the Russian Economic
Development Ministry on the establishment of tourist-recreational
special economic zones (SEZ) and approved a set of activities and
long-term plans on the development of tourist areas.
Murzagulov also called the anonymous critic published in a newspaper
"absurd" and provocative".
As previously reported by VK, experts who participated in the round
table on ski tourism in the North Caucasus held by the Public Chamber of
Russia came to the conclusion that in order for the project to be
realized, the state, local and business communities should unite for the
successful implementation of the North Caucasus tourism cluster.
