The number of tourists in Adjara has increased by 34.3%. 899,934 tourists visited the region in January-July, exceeding the number in 2010 by 114.3%, Business Georgia reports.
670,127 tourists visited Adjara in January-July 2011 and 419,868 in the same period of 2010.
434,397 foreign visitors were registered at that period, exceeding the same period in 2011 by 107.1%.
65,300 visitors came to Adjara from Turkey in January-July 2012, 39,749 from Armenia, 23,255 from Iran, 21,937 from Azerbaijan, 13,596 from Russia. The number of Russian tourists increased by 399,9% in the first same months of 2012, compared with the same period in 2011.
