About 150 customers of the Cherry Tour company are staying at the
moment in Bulgaria, ITAR-TASS reports.
Earlier, Rosturizm received information that the Bulgarian host company
"Vassy" began to demand that the Cherry Tour tourists pay for their
accommodation once again.
The press secretary of the Russian Travel Union Industry, Irina Turina,
confirmed that the RTUI had received complaints from agencies that
money is being extorted from the tourists. "We are talking about from 500
to 1,800 EUR, which tourists have to pay for their accommodation,"
Tyurina said. "Tourists do not have such money, many of them have no
passports, they cannot leave the hotel and go to the airport, for
those who have a passport are threatened that they will not be allowed
to leave the hotel."
