At the end of this month a mission of UNESCO and the International
Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) will visit the "Western Caucasus" World Heritage
Site. Experts of recognized international
organizations will visit Krasnodar Territory and the Republic of
Adygea to assess the state of conservation of World Heritage sites and
identify the progress made in implementing the decisions about World
Heritage by UNESCO and recommendations of the previous mission in
2010, a statement by the press-service of "Resorts of North Caucasus"
received by VK says.
The program also includes a meeting with representatives of the
Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia and "Resorts of the North
Caucasus", the administration of Krasnodar Territory and the Republic of
Adygea, while the experts will meet with members of non-governmental
organizations and associations of Adygea. "Resorts of the North
Caucasus" will provide information about the project on the
development of the tourism cluster in the North Caucasus. The mission
will prepare a report for the World Heritage Committee to
consider at its 37th session in 2013.
