Chechen alpinists to climb Mt. Everest

Chechen Speaker of Parliament Dukuvakha Abdurakhmanov met the Chechen alpinists who climbed Elbrus (5,642m), the Chechen government reports.

Jamlay Bugayev, Salambek Zulayev, Ramazan Bakanayev, Khamzat Umkhayev, Turpal Munashev and Ramzan Bersakunayev climbed the mountain to mark the 62nd anniversary of the first Chechen President Akhmat-Haji Kadyrov within the From Heart to Heart project and to support the Heart of Chechnya Mosque in the Russia-10 Contest.

They plan to climb the tallest Chechen mountain Tebulosmt (4,492m) and Mt. Everest (8,848m).
