North Ossetian rescuers found the body of a mountaineer at a height of 3,500m on Mt. Kazbek. The body presumably belongs to John Stiles (UK), the director of the Danish Refugee Council office in Russia who went missing on November 10, RIA Novosti reports.
He went climbing in the mountains alone. Contact was lost with him. Searches for him had to be stopped for about a month due to complicated weather conditions. The British consulate requested Russian rescuers to resume searches in early July.
