Over 200,000 tourists visited Sochi throughout the 10 days of the New Year holidays. Governor of Krasnodar Territory Alexander Tkachev noted today that the ski resorts were fully booked, RIA Novosti reports.
The governor predicts that 500,000 people will have visited the resort by April. Rosa Khutor, Gornaya Karusel and the Gazprom tourism center were the main tourism destinations, they have about 130km of skiing tracks.
13,000-23,000 people ski every day. Over 182,000 people visited highland areas for skiing and excursions.
Tourists visited the Olympic Park, sports car museums, the Big and the Small Skating Arenas, Sochi Park and Sochi Avtodrom. Over 46,000 people visited the Olympic Park alone.
