According to the Georgian government, the Ministry of Economy received more requests for the free tourist zone Kobuleti than they expected, Business Georgia reports.
The Parliament Secretary Giya Khuroshvili stated this fact at the finance-budget committee of the Georgian parliament, where the deputies approved the bill in the first hearing.
The project offers finance and tax benefits for hotels in Kobuleti. People involved in hotel construction will be freed from income and property taxes for 15 years, land spots of 3.5 ha or less will be offered for 1 lari. The government takes the responsibility for infrastructure (gas, water, energy, sewers, roads).
The facilities will be launched on August 1, 2011.
