Preparations for the tourism season and popular tourism attractions have been discussed by the Head of the Federal Tourism Agency, Oleg Safonov, the director general of the company ‘Set Magazinov Goryashchikh Putyovok’, Sergey Agafonov, and the chairman of the board of the ‘Turagent’ non-commercial partnership assisting in development of tour agents, Leonid Cherkassky.
Agafonov noted growth of interest in all elements of domestic tourism by about 50%. He clarified that some people wanted sunnier places and seas, yet some needed treatment offered by national sites.
Safonov said that Moscow, Saint Petersburg and Krasnodar Territory were ready for tourists. The official noted that he had recently visited Crimea, pointing out its readiness for tourists.
Cherkassky stated that tour companies focused on domestic tourism in 2015, unlike in the previous years. In his words, tourism in the southern parts of Russia is actively developing. Complex tours to Sochi, Anapa, Kavkazskiye Mineralniye Vody and other places will be offered. Cherkassky added that it was important to encourage people to use tour operators and agents when buying Russian tours.
