Chechen and Donetsk rescuers to climb Elbrus

 

Rescuers of the Chechen Search and Rescue Squad of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, mountaineers of Donetsk and members of Rossoyuzspas will ascend to Mt. Elbrus within the framework of the 70th Anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, according to Murad Murtazov, deputy head of the Squad, the Chechen government reports.Murtazov clarified that the complicated weather conditions (intensive wind and snow and low temperature) made the climb harder. The mountaineers plan to reach a height of 3,500m and spend the night there before starting the second stage of the ascension. The climb will end in late April.
