Krasnodar resorts outshine popularity of Turkish ones

Over 1 million people have booked hotel rooms in Krasnodar Territory this year, including over 900,000 in Sochi, over 100,000 in Anapa, over 65,000 in Gelendzhik, TASS reports.

Comparatively, 800,000 people booked rooms in Turkey.

Russians will spend an average of 10 days in Krasnodar Territory this year. An average room this summer will cost at least 3,000 rubles a day, 40% cheaper than abroad, says Yakov Sadchikov, the communications director of the online booking service.

140,000 people have spent their vacations in Sochi since the beginning of May, exceeding the figures of the same period last year by a third. Sochi Mayor Anatoly Pakhomov warned hoteliers about the number of guests the region will see this year.

The authorities of the city had earlier expressed readiness to receive at least 5.5 million tourists throughout the year.
